Working with women, according to Peace Trust is an integral part of community development. As such women development is mainstreamed within the ongoing activities of Peace Trust. The women self help groups promoted by Peace Trust sustains the activities of the women self help groups formed by conducting monthly meetings and collecting a nominal amount from each member of the groups formed, which are deposited in nationalized Banks and also used as internal loans among the groups .
SELF HELP GROUPS.
When the women development programmes were initiated in 2007, Peace Trust took steps to organize the women into sangams, which in course of time evolved into self - help group. Taking this factor into consideration that for sustained community development the women should be targeted as a result Peace Trust initiated women developmental activities such as:
. Formation of Self Help Groups
. Savings and Credit Mobilization
. Credit Linkages
Micro credit activities
Micro credit is a major activity of the SHG's. Every group member saves money regularly, which is rotated with in the group at a reasonable interest. Various schemes of the Government were utilized for the development of the women.
